2024 Government Intern: Human Resource Instructional Design

I am an incoming senior at Bates college, majoring in Economics and minoring in Spanish. My supervisor is Michael Ashmore, Program Developer and Trainer Officer for Volunteer Maine.

Project Goals:
•    Revision of Novice Certificate course in Volunteer Management 
•    Completing sufficient research on new topics to be included in the course, as well as content to be updated.
•    Using Adobe Captivate platform to improve course effectiveness and better the user experience.
•    Acclimating to the office and familiarizing self with the commission’s roles and responsibilities. 
•    Attending conferences and meetings to absorb insight on Volunteer Maine and its impact.
•    Developing an understanding of governmental structures and processes

Major focus of current effort (June 2024):
•    Finishing Volunteer Management course and analyzing course content’s successes and shortcomings.
•    Research ways to incorporate best adult learning strategies into course, as well as potential new components for course, such as a section on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
•    Explore functions of Adobe Captivate Software that will be used to revise and update the Novice CMV course
