*Report on program meeting with Kate Simson of Senator Collins staff
The outreach for program visits that PIE started in November has started to come together. On March 30, representatives of eight National Service programs met with Kate Simson in Senator Collins’ Portland office. Ross Cunningham (Commissioner) facilitated the meeting which went very well. Ms Simson encouraged programs to be in touch.

*Poliquin meeting progress
Thanks to Adam’s advice, the Commission has been asked to submit a list of sites Representative Poliquin could visit in the Bangor area. His office will review them and then follow up about connecting with the programs. The staff indicate he would rather go to various sites than meet with all the programs in one location.

*Branding follow up
Maryalice reported on the meeting related to strategic planning and how the new model includes decisions about brand value. She also gave an update about the meeting with Marshall Communications. Because real time strategic planning includes brand issues, this gives the task force time to work on understanding the status of AmeriCorps brand value in Maine and make plans for improvement. A first step would be to use social media to get a sense of the status. The plan is to post the logo with the simple question “what do you think of when you see this?” The AmeriCorps awareness efforts of grantees are largely focused on recruitment which is much more specific.

* Feedback on AC program created TV psa
The television spot is complete and has been delivered for broadcasting. Task force members focused on what a follow up would be like.

*Membership changes and thoughts about orientating people
As a result of new appointments, there will be 3 or 4 new members assigned to the task force. There was some discussion of who could be good additions. The May meeting will likely need to be orientation to current work.

Meeting adjourned at 3:37 pm
