Major Projects Underway:
- The Maine Service Instigator Grant was awarded to two applicants, working with the MMCF to use the rest of the funding to create programming for volunteer managers around youth service.
- Volunteer Program survey is collecting information around the effects of COVID on volunteer programs in the state. Survey results will inform future programming for volunteer managers from Volunteer Maine.
- CMV course in underway and 1 more session coming up in May
- Training and recruiting entities to use Maine Ready as the disaster relief platform for current and future disasters.
- Applied for the ASC Youth Service Grant: 10 State Services will receive $20k for 15 months to explore how they can expand the quantity and quality of youth service. Our proposal included creating programming around Service Learning and youth leadership for community based organizations in rural counties.
- Creating sponsorship opportunities for the Volunteer Leadership Conference in the fall – also still recruiting committee members.
- Governor Service Awards and Roll of Honor event will be help in June, the nominations are due on April 30.
- Recreating CNCS teaching program for grantees to take through our captivate platform.
- Creating an AmeriCorps Alumni group to act as a CERT in Maine – working to set up the foundation and recruitment has begun on Maine Ready.
Upcoming Project Focus:
- Creating a coordinating a Volunteer Managers network – especially for those who do not have a current running network in their area.
