National Service Outreach Assistant

October 14, 2016

On October 7, 2016 we hosted AmeriCorps Opening Day. About 75 AmeriCorps members, program staff, and special guests gathered in the Hall of Flags. John Portela hosted the event. Staff from the offices of our entire congressional delegation offered words of congratulations. Natalie Landry, last year’s Outstanding National Service Member award recipient shared remarks. And, Justice Joseph Jabar led our group in the AmeriCorps pledge.

Also, today (October 14) the proof for the 2016 National Service Directory was received. We expect copies to be printed and returned to us soon.

Our Maine Commission landing page is now live on Service Year: https://serviceyear.org/serveinmaine/ Service Year is an online platform for potential corps members to find opportunities.

The MCCS website is also up to date with new programs, correct contact information and updated locations of service sites on our google map.

Other ongoing projects include updating our social media accounts (twitter and facebook) and distributing e-bulletins to our AmeriCorps and Senior Corps partners.
