The nomination window for the 35th annual Governor's Awards for Service and Volunteerism will remain open until 5 p.m. on Friday, April 30. Through competitive award categories and the Maine Volunteer Youth and Adult Rolls of Honor, Volunteer Maine looks to recognize the Maine volunteers who have stepped up to help their friends, neighbors and community during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Kelsey Preecs, program officer for volunteer initiatives, recently appeared on WABI TV to encourage viewers to help shine a light on the volunteer or volunteers in their world.
"Anybody who thinks that they can nominate somebody, send them on down, because what a crazy year," said Preecs. "Like, we need to say thank you to all those people.”
