Public Policy Task Force Minutes

August 12, 2026

Present: Ruben Torres, Pamela Proulx-Curry, Jennifer Burke,

Staff: Brittany Gleixner-Hayat and Liz Theriault

Convened at 12:00 p.m.

Updates from Chair: Shared the new legislative engagement spreadsheet and email template, assigned staff to send email template to Commissioners Scott Adams and Mary Krebs to begin legislative outreach.

Continued to discuss Maine Service Fellows mid-year presentations and outreach to Legislators to attend, no immediate connections to Legislators based on Commissioner representations, but staff will begin drafting email invites to representatives.

Continued to discuss upcoming Commissioner Retreat and the public policy priorities that will be presented, including funding requests for the Volunteer Maine Executive Director and Climate Coordinator salaries, as well as raising awareness of impact of Maine Service Fellows.

Discussed action items for next meeting including finalizing language for public policy priorities for retreat and creating a new Zoom link for meetings.
