The task force gathered by video webinar at 8:30 am. The meeting was live for members of the public to view and listen.
There was one item on the agenda: finalizing recommendations for AmeriCorps Formula funding. The full Commission will act on these recommendations during the May 21st meeting.
Formula funding allocation priority goes to the AmeriCorps Continuations. State Formula allocation is $764,219.

Alfond Youth and Community Center
Chair Barrett asked if there were any questions or comments about the application and review. There is a need to decrease their budget to the allowable amount. The request is for funding set at $ 33,406 Federal Share supporting 2-member service years (MSY’s) distributed over 2 slots with the proposed cost per member service year at $16,703. A motion made by Barrett to forward the recommendation to the commission with the condition that they modify their budget to the allowable amount $32,600 Federal Share with the cost per MSY set at $16,300 in year 2 for a vote. Waiting list
With the Continuations and the New standard formula grant to be recommended for approval, there is not enough funding to award the remaining Rural awards of which there are 4. It is recommended that all the grants should be funded if there is money in the American Rescue Plan that recently passed. The Federal Agency has not yet determined how the funds will be allocated.
