Major projects completed – February 2020
- Provided direct support to Seeds of Hope and KVCAP regarding specific program related challenges
- Worked with grantees to craft responses to newly proposed criminal history check rules put out for public comment by CNCS
- Worked with AYCC on revisions of their AmeriCorps program design, in particular, their logic model and associated performance targets
- Oversaw Member Conference planning, including formation of Member Committee, confirmation of keynote, call for proposal design and site selection
- Finalized contract with Galaxy Digital (partnering with Maine CDC & MEMA) host MaineReady.org site for volunteer matching in times of disaster
- Assisted with set up, in collaboration with Public Information Officer, of National Service Day at the Hall of Flags scheduled for March 26th
- Processed last of VGF contract paperwork due to delays in signatures; Assisted AYCC and CCM in setting up their new VGF programs
Issues to be aware of –
- February TA meetings were delayed multiple times due to weather related closures of state offices delayed
- Continued targeted outreach to organizations that have requested information regarding AmeriCorps in advance of the release of the Formula RFPs on March 6th. The Commission has a significant amount of funds available for this competition and only a limited number of organizations interested in larger program grant options.
Major focus of effort in the new month –
- Complete planning and execute AC Member Conference at Hutchinson Center in Belfast on April 1
- Final AmeriCorps outreach to key constituencies
- Service Enterprise cohort planning
- National Service Day at the Hall of Flags
- Set-up for VGF reporting due in April
Other activity –
- Ongoing AmeriCorps & VGF Technical Assistance to existing grantees via email, teleconference & face to face
- Procurement system management and initial entry of financial documents in state purchasing system, including purchase orders, bids, and contracts.
