Issues to be aware of

  • Staffing: Prior to his passing in September, administrative assistant Zachary Harder was to play a major supporting role in the staff execution of a communications and marketing plan. This will require Roche to rethink many aspects of the plan due to reduced staff support. The Communications Task Force will be briefed before the start of 2021 on any major changes.
  • Virtual AmeriCorps Launch Ceremony planning: Launch logistics will require a large time commitment by Roche. Roche is the event lead and will be responsible for covering for any efforts or duties not completed by collaborators.
  • New Volunteer Maine website: Now eying an October or November launch, this will be a large focus of work in the upcoming month. Time will need to be set aside for content management system training, content updates and additional small tweaks/adjustments.
  • AmeriCorps rebrand: Time may be needed to be set aside to reinforce education to grantees and provide support.

Major focus of effort in the next month

  • Testing and readying new Volunteer Maine website for mid-fall launch.
  • Planning and promotion of Maine AmeriCorps Launch ceremony (new date 11/18/20).
    • PLEASE NOTE: Roche roughly estimates that items one and two above will take up the majority of his time and attention over the next month, due to the size and scope of each project.
  • Continuing work with subcommittee in Communications Task Force to integrate behavior change marketing into the plan.
  • Mapping out path to begin resumption of storytelling-focused marketing and communications initiatives.

Other activity

  • None to report. Thanks for reading, and Happy Halloween!
