Governor's Awards for Service and Volunteerism draws hundreds to Waterville!

Celebration of Service combines 4 recognition events into 1 for first time in 20 years.

The Governor's Awards for Service and Volunteerism drew 230 people to the Waterville Children's Discovery Museum on May 5. Individual awards were presented by Brigadier General Diane Dunn. The Maine Roll of Honor and Youth Roll of Honor was called by sponsor representatives Andrew Fortin-Trimble of Skowhegan Savings and Necole Janczura of The First National Bank. Semester of Service youth groups were also on hand to report on their semester long projects tackling issues in their communities that ranged from mental health to substance use.
