Program Officer, Special Volunteer Initiatives: Climate Corps Network

Major Projects:

  • Maine Development Foundation Workshop in Freeport with Maureen Kendzierski
  • Maine Municipal Association Conference with Maureen Kendzierski had great engagement with the local municipalities and towns interested in Maine Service Fellows and launched the “Grant Yourself a Maine Service Fellow;” developed relationships with potential conference sponsors
  • Worked with Maureen on social media posts for Volunteer Maine
  • Final contract with Brenda Zollitsch for Soft Skills Development
  • Meetings with Sarah Curran about the Climate Corps Program and how best to support it
  • Moved into MOCA at the beginning of the month
  • Assisted with the Life After AmeriCorps Conference
  • MOCA Communications working group participation
  • Developed a research plan for conducting the LD1433 feasibility study
  • Service Programs Task Force meeting

Issues to be aware of:

  • Federal funding landscape is still uncertain
  • Move to MOCA – logistics of accounts and permissions

Major focus of effort in new month/Ongoing:

  • Recruit programs for the Climate Corps Network
  • Record retention for Volunteer Maine
  • Maine Climate Council working group participation
  • LD1433 Higher Education Corps Feasibility Study Interviews
  • Develop soft skills training course with Brenda Zollitsch
  • Betterment Foundation Grant Application
  • Increase social media presence
