Efforts to establish the Maine Climate Corps were highlighted in the Friday, October 14 edition of "The Climate 202," the Washington Post's daily climate-focused newsletter.
Maine's Climate Corps was one of several from across the country featured in the piece. Volunteer Maine staff discussed the program focus areas of energy conservation and energy efficiency.
“There's an urgency around helping people save money on fuel this winter and stay warm and safe,” said Kirsten Brewer, Maine Climate Corps Coordinator, when speaking to the Post.
Maryalice Crofton, Volunteer Maine Executive Director, touched on the desire to have more case workers in the state who can "help low-income residents take advantage of rebates for weatherizing their homes.
