Program Development & Training Officer

Major projects completed – Feb 2019

  • Hosted 2 -day New Grantee Training for new AmeriCorps Rural grantees and new program staff in continuing programs
  • Oversaw contractor to complete major Member Conference planning, including formation of Member Committee, confirmation of keynote, call for proposal design and site selection
  • Continued as co-chair of Regional Conference planning committee, confirmed CNCS leadership participation and did outreach for presenters
  • Met with Maine VOAD leadership to clarify role of MCCS and Donations Coordination Team in times of disaster
    Set up, in collaboration with new staff, National Service Day at the Hall of Flags scheduled for March 6th
  • Worked with Office Support Specialist to improve VGF grantee financial reporting compliance
  • Completed Year I ASC -Mott program development grant
  • Hosted student visit from Maine Youth Alliance mentor/mentee group
  • Facilitated application for NCCC team to support project with Maine Tribes

Issues to be aware of –

  • March is final month of CHRC grace period for programs electing to re-check members and staff for compliance using new CNCS protocol. Starting April first, programs will begin using hybrid process using a portion of the CNCS protocol to improve compliance and existing, SBI recommended process for state and FBI checks
  • PD&T Officer is leading short-term outreach related to summmer programming that couldbe suported with reclaimed formula fuds

Major focus of effort in the new month –

  • Complete planning and execute AC Member Conference at Hutchinson Center in Belfast on March 27
  • Finalize contracts with Aging in Place support contractor and Data Innovation Project at USM for evaluation and data management support. Amend contract with Service Enterprise contractor to include design of regional train the trainer in Ma
  • Update CHRC program guidance for grantees
  • Meeting with Afterschool network to outline workplan for year two of Mott funding
  • Establish midcoast Service Enterprise cohort (tabled since January)

Other activity –

  • Continue supporting onboarding of new Staff
  • Ongoing AmeriCorps & VGF Technical Assistance to existing grantees via email, teleconference & face to face
  • Staff support for PIE Task Force
  • Procurement system management and initial entry of financial documents in state purchasing system, including purchase orders, bids, and contracts.
