Issues to be aware of –
We have hired a contractor to support AmeriCorps program recruitment efforts, The contractor will assess current program outreach methods and messages and provide feedback to the programs. We have also hired a contractor to mentor and support AYCC program director to alleviate potential compliance issues.
The AmeriCorps Public Health NOFO was issued and has a due date in early November. Applicants are directed to apply to the federal agency, but programs operating within the state will be transitioned to the Commission for Administration. We anticipate on possible application that would be impacted this way. Other applicants may place members in Maine but are multi-state applicants.
AmeriCorps: The Commission has an open RFPs for Competitive funding. Commissioners should be aware that any questions regarding the competitions or the RFPs should be directed to the staff member identified in the RFP documents.
KVCAP is applying for a competitive AmeriCorps grant, having completed a 3-yr formula cycle. The application design has been informed by coordinated planning with MDOE’s Child Development Services division to meet needs described by Commissioner Makin and for which we have provided guidance on program design prior to the issuance of the RFP
